About the Role
Prudentia Sciences is seeking a dedicated QA Engineer to build quality into their AI-powered technology platform from the ground up. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a high-growth company and collaborate with engineering, product, and ML teams to ensure the reliability and correctness of a platform used by biopharma, biotech, and life sciences investors.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites across UI, API, and data pipelines.
- Utilize AI coding tools daily to build and maintain tests, verifying their output.
- Own automated quality gates in CI/CD pipelines, determining release criteria.
- Test at the API layer to catch breaking changes between services.
- Conduct load, performance, and reliability testing to meet platform expectations.
- Identify, document, and triage defects with clear reproduction steps.
- Validate the accuracy and consistency of ML-driven outputs.
- Verify secure handling of sensitive scientific and deal data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into testable criteria.
- Champion a quality-first culture and advocate for testability in design reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience testing modern web applications and designing/building automated test suites.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress).
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., pytest, REST-assured, pactflow).
- Experience owning automated tests in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), including quality gates and managing flaky tests.
- Hands-on use of AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) with a habit of verifying their output.
- Experience designing load or performance tests and identifying bottlenecks.
- Comfort reading code and working with engineers to understand system architecture, APIs, and data flows.
- Experience testing applications with complex, data-driven workflows.
- Skilled at writing clear, reproducible bug reports and communicating quality risks.
- Familiarity with best practices for secure data handling and testing in sensitive-data environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or biopharma sectors is a plus.
- Willingness to learn about life sciences and the drug development process.
