About the Role
Join our Analytics Engineering team and own the layer between raw data and decisions. Build and maintain models in dbt on BigQuery using dimensional modeling, add tests and documentation, build metrics in our semantic layer, and point Metabase at certified models. Utilize AI coding tools like Claude Code, starting with shipping your first models and growing to own a business domain.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain models in dbt on BigQuery using dimensional modeling.
- Add tests and documentation to data models.
- Build metrics in our semantic layer.
- Point Metabase at certified models.
- Ship first models in production.
- Own a business domain in the model (e.g., Product or Marketing).
- Define metrics together with business teams.
- Contribute improvements to standards.
Requirements
- Confident in SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions).
- Basic understanding of data modeling (facts, dimensions, granularity).
- Curious about the business logic behind metrics.
- Desire to work with dbt and SQL on real models.
- Basic knowledge of Git.
- Ability to explain own code and decisions.
- Comfortable using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot).
- First practical experience with data (0-3 years, including internships or projects).
- Confident English communication.
