About the Role
The Risk Management team is responsible for managing risks specific to Merpay's payment and credit services, as well as overall Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). We are looking for someone to help us think and practice new ways of risk management that fit Merpay, based on traditional methods, while being adaptable and flexible in developing new financial services.
Responsibilities
- Planning and development of third-party risk management.
- Establishment of management systems, regulations, and procedures for external outsourcing.
- Design and execution of risk assessments and due diligence for outsourced vendors.
- Operation of monitoring during the period before and after the commencement of outsourcing.
- Promotion of response when incidents or deficiencies occur due to outsourced vendors.
- Other general risk management related tasks.
Requirements
- Agreement with the mission and values of the Mercari Group and its companies.
- At least 3 years of practical experience in risk management and building management systems for external outsourcing/vendors (outsourcing, BPO, SaaS, development outsourcing, operational outsourcing, etc.).
- Experience in the entire process of vendor management (e.g., vendor selection, risk assessment, involvement in contract/SLA design, pre-commencement checks, regular monitoring, incident response, renewal/termination evaluation).
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders (business, legal, security, privacy, audit, vendors, etc.) to organize issues and build consensus.
- Embrace a 'Be a Pro' attitude, possess expertise and a sense of responsibility in risk management, and collaborate with team members to solve problems through dialogue, balancing logical/objective judgment with consideration for others' perspectives.
- Value a 'Move Fast' attitude, execute with a sense of speed, and actively engage in improving and streamlining operations using new technologies such as AI.
- Willingness to create new forms of risk management with flexible thinking, not bound by traditional financial institution practices.
