About the Role
As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Faculty, you will partner with cross-functional delivery teams to transform cutting-edge AI and data science models into intuitive, impactful client-facing software. You will champion modern frontend engineering practices, mentor fellow engineers, and shape our growing frontend community. In this role, you will have the autonomy to solve complex, real-world challenges through elegant interfaces, driving innovation from concept through to deployment in high-stakes environments.
Responsibilities
- Building and scaling resilient, client-facing web applications that bring complex machine learning insights to life.
- Collaborating closely with data scientists, designers, and engineers across the product lifecycle to design intuitive user experiences.
- Architecting and maintaining reusable design systems and component libraries to accelerate development across the company.
- Establishing and maintaining robust CI/CD, development, and deployment workflows alongside modern cloud infrastructure.
- Championing frontend best practices, engineering standards, and technical excellence across our engineering guilds.
- Mentoring, onboarding, and supporting team members to foster a supportive and continuous learning environment.
Requirements
- Strong experience building, testing, and scaling modern web applications using React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Appreciation for clean component architecture and enjoyment in developing design systems that work smoothly across multiple platforms.
- Comfortable creating data visualisations using tools such as D3 to make sophisticated insights clear and accessible.
- Solid understanding of frontend build tools (such as Webpack or Babel).
- Foundational familiarity with backend APIs (such as Node.js).
- Exposure to modern cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Enjoyment in learning how deployment pipelines fit into the wider software ecosystem.
- Thrive in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment where you can share ideas, support peers, and turn complex problems into practical solutions.
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC) and willing to work on site with clients from time to time may be required.
