About the Role
We are seeking a Breakfast and Lunch Line Cook to join our team at a busy restaurant located at a small public airport. This role involves cooking and preparing meals in front of customers for a diverse clientele including pilots, sky divers, glider clubs, student pilots, and walk-ins. The ideal candidate is experienced, creative, and committed to providing an excellent dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Create menus for weekly specials
- Set up the kitchen with necessary tools and equipment
- Prepare food and present it in an appealing manner
- Work collaboratively with team members
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and restock as needed
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef or management
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes
- Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
