About the Role

Shape secure, interoperable, and well-governed APIs across REST and event-driven architectures. Balance client experience, engineering practicality, regulatory expectations, and commercial outcomes to deliver integrations faster, more safely, and with less rework. Enable a consistent and reliable implementation experience for clients and developers across channels, products, and markets.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive key capabilities within the API Platform roadmap, covering design guidelines, versioning, error handling, security patterns, event-driven capabilities, documentation, billing, servicing, and testing standards.
  • Use customer, engineering, and operational insight to prioritize investment, resolve trade-offs, and deliver measurable improvements.
  • Champion developer experience by improving API discoverability, documentation, testing, onboarding, and ongoing servicing.
  • Ensure API delivery aligns with the target architecture and the wider Client Connectivity strategy and support consistent adoption of standards and a high-quality customer implementation experience.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning for API enablement and platform capabilities.
  • Partner with Product, Channel, Lines of Business, and IT teams to deliver customer-centric solutions across the Client Connectivity channel and underlying product domains.
  • Drive consistent delivery across external and internal IT-led APIs, supporting a seamless end-to-end experience that’s reliable, secure, scalable, and easy to use.
  • Build alignment across teams, regions, and disciplines, ensuring decisions are clear, well-governed, and translated into practical delivery outcomes.

Requirements

  • Proven product management experience delivering digital products, platforms, or shared technology capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of API ecosystems, REST, event-driven architectures, developer experience, and platform-based operating models.
  • A track record of leading cross-functional delivery across regions, disciplines, and organizational boundaries.
  • The ability to translate complex technology, regulatory, and operational considerations into clear, client-centric product outcomes.
  • Knowledge of global payments and/or global trade finance solutions, with the ability to translate product requirements into secure, scalable, and client-focused API and connectivity solutions.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage audiences from engineers and architects to senior business leaders.
  • Strong leadership, organization, decision-making, lateral-thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative, client-centric mindset and a commitment to delivering simple, consistent experiences.
  • The ability to influence without formal authority, manage competing priorities, and drive alignment across multiple teams and markets.
  • A pragmatic approach to balancing customer value, technical feasibility, risk, control requirements, and commercial impact.
