About the Role
Children’s Day School is seeking dynamic On-Call Substitute Teachers to support our Lower School (Kindergarten–4th Grade). Substitutes play a key role in maintaining a vibrant, consistent learning environment by stepping in for homeroom instruction across academic subjects and specialist programming, as well as for recess. On-call subs ensure seamless learning experiences for our students.
Responsibilities
- Be reliable and ready to jump into a variety of classrooms and serve multiple needs.
- Implement grade level or subject specific curriculum and partner with a co-teacher.
- Provide hands-on, inquiry-based learning with an integrated approach.
- Run small groups and conference with students on learning goals.
- Understand diverse learning needs and basic accommodations to support student success.
- Demonstrate and model cultural competence.
- Support the division with lunch duties, recess coverage, and student supervision.
Requirements
- Relevant teaching experience
- Acumen in 21st-century learning skills and issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong communication skills and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in the use of technology, Google Suite, and managing multiple platforms.
- Live Scan, SB 848 background check
- TB Assessment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
