About the Role
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our growing Construction Engineering & Inspection team in New Windsor, NY. This role supports transportation and infrastructure projects, overseeing on-site leadership, contractor performance, and compliance with project plans and specifications. It's ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong field experience and a commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead inspectors or act as a solo inspector for bridge and/or highway construction inspection, including quantity measurement and calculation, and documenting work with daily reports, photos, and sketches.
- Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection, including pay estimates, change orders, daily work reports, quantity checking, meeting minutes, and material certifications.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with specifications.
- Apply project plans, company policies, guidelines, and specifications to the work and make decisive decisions.
- Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
- Coordinate project site activities and resolve work-related problems.
- Lead other construction inspectors, providing coaching, mentoring, and direction.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 10+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience required.
- Valid US Driver's License required.
- Leadership skills, decision making, and attention to detail.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and interactions.
