About the Role

HR Green is bringing its Workday integration portfolio in-house and is seeking a Senior Workday Integration Developer to own it. This role involves supporting existing integrations, adapting them as systems change, and building new ones. As the integration portfolio stabilizes, you will also become HR Green's technical resource for its firm-wide AI program, maintaining and building AI agents and their supporting integrations. This is a permanent, in-house role focused on applied development for secure business solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the transition of Workday integrations from the implementation partner to internal ownership.
  • Serve as the primary support resource for production integrations, prioritizing payroll-impacting feeds.
  • Maintain the integration inventory and documentation.
  • Design, build, test, and deploy new and modified integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Web Services, Reports as a Service, and XSLT.
  • Build Studio integrations that call connected systems' REST APIs.
  • Mature error handling, batch tracking, logging, and notifications to proactively catch failures.
  • Plan and run integration regression testing for Workday releases and connected-system upgrades.
  • Take over, maintain, and adapt AI agents and their supporting integrations.
  • Set acceptance criteria for third-party deliverables to ensure maintainability.
  • Build secure API connectors and service identities for approved agents to interact with HR Green systems.
  • Build new agents and automations independently or with external specialists.
  • Apply HR Green's standards for agent testing, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Apply secure development practices and follow HR Green change-management, source-control, and release processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years developing and supporting system integrations.
  • Three or more years building and supporting Workday integrations in production with hands-on Workday Studio development.
  • Working familiarity with the broader Workday integration toolset (EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Web Services, Reports as a Service, XSLT).
  • Experience taking ownership of integrations built by others and operating them reliably.
  • Experience diagnosing failures across systems, performing root-cause analysis, and restoring service.
  • Hands-on experience consuming REST and SOAP APIs, JSON and XML.
  • Experience with token-based and OAuth 2.0 authentication.
  • Working proficiency in XML/XSLT and at least one general-purpose programming language.
  • Experience with source control and code review.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical issues, risks, and trade-offs to HR, Finance, and operations partners.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and interest in applying AI and automation platforms to business problems.
  • Experience building on LLM platforms or enterprise copilot/agent tooling is preferred.
  • Experience integrating a professional-services ERP, payroll or benefits providers, identity directory, ITSM, or learning platforms is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of SQL are preferred.
  • Current or prior Workday integration certification or equivalent formal Workday Studio training is a plus.
  • Cloud or AI certifications are a plus.
  • Some after-hours work is expected to support payroll-sensitive integrations.
