About the Role
Oneida Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for its day shift (7a-7p) on the Medical Surgical Unit. This position is responsible for coordinating patient care and performing nursing services requiring specialized judgment and skills, including supervising LPNs and related support nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating patient care
- Performing nursing services requiring specialized judgment and skills
- Supervising LPNs and related support nursing staff
- Identifying patient needs and providing care
- Working as a team player
- Supervising other nursing personnel
- Keeping neat records
- Preparing reports in a timely manner
- Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for staff and patients in accordance with quality standards
- Demonstrating excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Having a customer service attitude when interacting with patients and families
- Using organizational skills for supplies and equipment
- Remaining calm and professional in crisis and emergent situations
- Demonstrating proficiency in computer skills for electronic records management systems
Requirements
- New York RN License required
- Associate of Nursing required
- Bachelor’s of Nursing preferred
- BLS certification preferred
- 1 year of nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to treat patients with kindness and consideration
- Standing and walking for up to 80% of a shift
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach
