About the Role
Curtis Lumber is seeking an experienced, hard-working individual to join our team as an Overnight Guard to support company facilities and operations. This role is crucial for maintaining safety and security across our properties.
Responsibilities
- Support company facilities and operations, including inspections of property and buildings.
- Identify and address safety issues or contact Building Maintenance/Loss Prevention Manager.
- Maintain areas around Guard Shack, Gates, and Corporate Building during snow/ice events.
- Ensure safe propane dispensing during operation.
- Observe personnel and departing trucks/vehicles for safety and security reasons.
- Periodically patrol buildings and grounds.
- Record data on unusual occurrences, property damage, or malfunctioning equipment.
- Manage the sign out/in process for transfer trucks and log rail cars.
- Monitor video surveillance system and obtain footage as needed.
- Identify and address trespassers, notifying authorities of suspicious activity.
- Manage parking issues.
- Check in/out vendor trucks/vehicles and provide directions.
- Handle onsite emergencies and provide traffic control.
- Manage emergency phone calls from Branches and notify appropriate departments.
- Notify EMS/Police/Fire in case of emergencies.
- Respond to alarm calls and address as needed.
- Assist with incidents.
- Mentor fellow employees.
- Spot check inventory.
- Assist customers in the seasonal area when not occupied.
- Check customer propane tanks for expiration and condition when not occupied.
- Provide directions to customers and vendors.
- Complete assigned projects.
