About the Role
TheTravel is seeking freelance Aviation Writers with insider industry knowledge to cover airlines, airports, lounges, cabins, airline leadership, and flight deck life from a traveler's perspective. We encourage applications from pilots, flight attendants, airline and airport professionals, and aviation journalists.
Responsibilities
- Pitch and write original stories on airlines, airports, lounges, cabins, executives, and pilots.
- Provide expert analysis on aviation news, explaining changes, significance, and traveler impact.
- Track article performance and use data to enhance future content.
- Adhere to TheTravel's Editorial Guidelines and implement feedback from the Lead Editor.
Requirements
- Professional experience in aviation or 3+ years covering aviation as a journalist or writer.
- Deep knowledge of airlines, airports, and the commercial aviation industry.
- First-hand experience with airports, lounges, and cabins as a frequent flyer.
- Strong research and reporting skills.
- Familiarity with SEO and content management systems (CMS) is advantageous.
- Must not use Artificial Intelligence in content creation.
