About the Role
DV is seeking an experienced software developer to join a small team focused on developing and operating back-office systems that support traders, risk management, and accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software engineers, risk management, accounting, and traders on real-time and batch data processing.
- Generate daily reports for the firm and traders using overnight data.
- Design and utilize database schemas to support data processing.
- Monitor daily jobs to ensure timely dissemination of critical information.
- Ensure the flow of real-time trade data for accurate intraday position and trade data for risk management and traders.
Requirements
- Senior-level Python expertise including typing, packaging, concurrency, profiling, and performance tuning.
- Proven experience in production ownership of scheduled and batch data systems with hard deadlines, including retries, idempotency, alerting, and recovery.
- Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, migrations, query tuning, and data integrity controls.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow and CI/CD pipelines.
- Demonstrated quality discipline, including automated testing, code review, incident response, runbooks, and post-incident follow-through.
- Proficiency with Atlassian tooling (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) in a daily work environment.
- Practical experience applying AI, including LLM APIs for automation or analysis, and using AI coding assistants with human review.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with non-engineers (operations, accounting, settlements, middle office staff).
- Ability to mentor junior and mid-level developers and make independent design decisions.
