About the Role

Develop our battery optimization product, connecting Site Reliability Engineering, Software Engineering, mathematical optimization, AI, and energy industry understanding to create solutions that directly impact the marketing performance of battery storage.

Responsibilities

Develop and enhance our optimization product for marketing battery storage and other flexibilities in short-term electricity markets and the reserve market.
Translate complex energy industry requirements into robust software solutions and product features.
Implement, deploy, and monitor productive real-time applications in a 24/7 operational environment.
Contribute to the technical architecture and further development of our Azure cloud-based optimization and trading systems.
Develop solutions for combining various marketing options, such as Day-Ahead, Intraday, and reserve.
Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Product Owners, and other teams in developing new product functions.
Take responsibility for the quality, stability, and further development of the components you develop, focusing on Operational Excellence ('You build it, you run it').

Requirements

Completed degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Business Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Experience in transforming complex problems into robust, productive software, ideally with Python and C#.
Sound knowledge in Site Reliability Engineering.
Practical experience with AI-powered software development and proficient use of modern AI coding tools.
Ideally, knowledge of the energy industry and electricity markets, or a strong interest in quickly acquiring this knowledge.
Ideally, experience in designing, querying, and optimizing relational databases, as well as handling large datasets.
Fluent written and spoken German and English.
