About the Role

Facility Innovations Group (FacilityIG) is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to own assigned electrical construction projects from turnover through closeout, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, documentation, and client communication. This role requires deep electrical construction experience and daily use of AI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned electrical projects from contract turnover through punch list and closeout, delivering to schedule, budget, quality, and safety standards.
  • Plan and track electrical scopes including power distribution, service and switchgear work, conduit and raceways, lighting and controls, tenant and facility improvements, and multi-site program rollouts.
  • Coordinate crews, foremen, apprentices, subcontractors, materials, inspections, and utility work to maintain production plans.
  • Identify risks early (labor, materials, access, design gaps, schedule conflicts) and drive corrective action.
  • Review drawings, one-lines, specs, and RFIs for constructability and escalate design conflicts.
  • Support permitting, inspections, and code compliance.
  • Partner with warehouse and procurement on material pulls, long-lead equipment, and jobsite logistics.
  • Visit jobsites regularly to identify quality, safety, and productivity issues.
  • Maintain project documentation in Procore (or company PM platform), including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, photos, change orders, and closeout packages.
  • Track job cost versus budget, manage change orders, billing inputs, and forecast updates.
  • Communicate project status clearly to clients and internal leadership.
  • Utilize AI tools daily to draft updates, summarize field notes, organize follow-ups, improve documentation quality, and speed routine PM work.
  • Adhere to company AI policy regarding confidential data.
  • Help standardize PM practices for repeatable project execution.

Requirements

  • Proficient, daily, hands-on use of AI tools (such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot) and the ability to learn new AI tools.
  • Heavy electrical construction project management experience (commercial and/or industrial).
  • Hands-on familiarity with electrical scopes: reading plans and one-lines, coordinating conduit/wire/terminations/panels/switchgear work, and working with licensed electricians and foremen.
  • Proven ownership of schedule, budget, subcontractors, change orders, and closeout on construction projects.
  • Proficiency with a construction PM platform (Procore strongly preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, accountable, and comfortable on active jobsites.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Journeyman electrician license, electrical apprenticeship background, or equivalent field electrical experience (preferred).
  • Experience with multi-site retail/convenience, warehouse/distribution, manufacturing, or data-center electrical programs (preferred).
  • OSHA 10 or 30; familiarity with NEC and NFPA 70E expectations (preferred).
  • Austin, Texas base or willingness to relocate; comfort with travel to Phoenix-market and other project sites as needed.
