About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Chiller Technician to join our fast-growing team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as an active EPA Certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance and repair of commercial systems including air-cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, variable air volume systems, etc.
- Diagnose and repair machine and equipment defects including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
- Inspect and test system components for proper operation, efficiency, and compliance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, servicing, and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems.
- Assist in installing, retrofitting, and commissioning commercial chiller systems and related HVAC equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial Chiller and Refrigeration Equipment.
- Work with electrical components, timers, contactors, and relays.
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Provide high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site customer interface.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients.
- Prepare and present detailed service reports to customers.
Requirements
- Valid Driver License with acceptable driving record.
- Active EPA Certification.
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting with Chillers.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Technical training in HVAC or Refrigeration.
- Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Ability to take lead over and teach helpers and technicians.
