About the Role

In this leadership role, you will own BLP's invoice product, including the team's roadmap, delivery, people management, and hiring. You will focus on building the team, delivering for major customers, and empowering the team to become a product-driven unit.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow the team, including running 1:1s, ensuring engineer growth, and making promotion decisions.
Coach and develop subteam leads and establish the subteam structure.
Maintain connection and productivity within a distributed team through clear agreements and transparent planning.
Own end-to-end hiring for the team, defining profiles, screening candidates, and closing offers.
Maintain a high hiring bar while recruiting at pace, ensuring onboarding plans and buddies for new joiners.
Build the quarterly roadmap and manage monthly planning with product owners and management.
Prioritize based on customer impact, revenue, and strategic value.
Balance various project demands including enterprise go-lives, automation improvements, and platform migration.
Escalate conflicting priorities clearly and communicate decisions to the go-to-market organization.
Take responsibility for the engineering aspects of large enterprise go-lives.
Work with project managers and customer stakeholders to provide engineering updates.
Address product gaps to support future enterprise customers.

Requirements

Led an engineering team of 8+ people for at least two years, preferably in B2B SaaS.
Experience growing a team through hiring.
Strong backend engineering background with the ability to review production code and system design.
Experience hiring engineers and running structured interview processes.
Experience delivering complex software for enterprise customers, including demanding go-lives.
Comfortable interacting with customer stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize ruthlessly and communicate trade-offs clearly.
Ability to hold a position while maintaining relationships with engineers, sales, and executives.
Experience developing people through direct feedback and measurable goals.
Takes ownership, surfaces problems early, and asks for help when needed.
Fluent in English.
German language skills are a strong plus.
