About the Role
Join the heat transition! BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH is seeking an Intraday Optimizer to work in a 24/7 shift schedule at the Berlin location.
Responsibilities
- Create intraday power plant schedules (electricity and heat) for BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH's power plants using optimization software in a continuous 24/7 shift operation.
- Adjust plant deployment to real operating conditions (electricity prices, actual heat loads, availabilities, network hydraulics).
- Monitor compliance with balance circles for electricity.
- Adjust power plant deployment to comply with gas contracts/gas corridors.
- Ensure optimized procurement of electrical work during plant failures.
Requirements
- State-certified technician or master craftsman in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or power plant technology, or a comparable qualification.
- Economic understanding of energy trading.
- Knowledge of combined heat and power (CHP).
- General technical understanding.
- Teamwork and clear communication skills to interact with various departments at Berliner Energie und Wärme.
- Understanding of the software used in the area.
- Willingness for further training.
- Willingness for shift work.
