About the Role
As part of the Flight Test & Operations team, you will bridge the gap between engineering design and real-world tactical deployment. Our team is responsible for rigorously evaluating next-generation autonomous UAV platforms in demanding flight conditions. You will serve as a primary operator and evaluator for novel unmanned aerial systems, conducting rigorous developmental and operational flight testing. Your work will directly ensure that our UAV platforms are field-tested, robust, and mission-ready for critical defence operations.
Responsibilities
- Execute flight test plans and experimental flight profiles for experimental and production UAV systems.
- Evaluate UAV performance, handling qualities, operational flight control modes, and ground control interfaces.
- Collaborate with flight test engineers and software developers to debrief test results and refine flight algorithms.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections, risk assessments, and emergency procedure validations prior to test missions.
- Maintain accurate flight logs, test documentation, and safety reporting protocols.
- Support field deployment missions, customer demonstrations, and operational trials domestically and internationally.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating UAVs/RPAS in complex or experimental flight environments.
- Strong technical understanding of flight dynamics, aerodynamics, and ground station control systems.
- Relevant remote pilot licenses/certifications required for commercial or defence UAV operations in Europe.
- Ability to analyze telemetry data and communicate flight anomalies effectively to engineering teams.
- Demonstrated mindset of high safety standards, composure under pressure, and structured problem-solving in dynamic field settings.
- Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for this position.
