About the Role
Via Transportation, Inc. is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to apply advanced quantitative and statistical methods to support business model development and product innovation.
Responsibilities
- Apply advanced quantitative and statistical methods to support business model development and product innovation.
- Develop and implement Bayesian models and stochastic simulations to generate insights and predictions, including analyses of user behavior and system performance.
- Manage projects end-to-end, including data extraction, cleaning, and preparation; model development and validation; and deployment of analytical solutions.
- Design and develop proof-of-concept applications, as needed, to operationalize and demonstrate modeling results.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports and presentations summarizing methodologies, progress, and key findings to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Experience completing at least two (2) projects utilizing Bayesian inference, stochastic modeling, or a combination of both, gained in either academic or professional settings.
- Demonstrated experience developing high-quality functional or object-oriented code, evidenced by approximately 10,000 lines of code written in Python, R, or another programming language suitable for data analytics.
