About the Role

As a Lead Cloud Software Architect for Microsoft Azure, you will conceptualize sophisticated software architectures and guide clients from the initial idea to successful implementation. You will leverage your technical expertise, innovative spirit (e.g., AI/GenAI), and leadership experience to create future-proof solutions with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and own sophisticated cloud-native software architectures based on modern technologies and Microsoft Azure, from architecture and design to successful implementation, considering reliability, security, performance, and costs, and identifying potential for AI/GenAI.
• Advise clients on technological and architectural issues related to modern software solutions and Microsoft Azure, developing suitable solution approaches for their individual requirements.
• Utilize modern cloud-native technologies and Azure Services such as Spring Boot, Quarkus, Kafka, Kubernetes, AKS, Azure Functions, or Event Hubs and integrate them meaningfully into architectures.
• Provide technical leadership for international cloud engineering and development teams, offering technological guidance and ensuring high quality in customer projects.
• Contribute expertise to pre-sales, feasibility studies, and innovation projects, present compelling solution approaches, and shape the further development of the service portfolio with national and international teams.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in developing and architecting modern software solutions.
• Proficient in technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, or Quarkus, and microservices architectures.
• Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and successful implementation of cloud-native solutions with services and technologies like AKS, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Hubs, or Kubernetes in production environments.
• Knowledge of modern approaches and tools for CI/CD, observability, and security (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Prometheus, Grafana, or Trivy) and their integration into software development processes.
• Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching teams.
• Methodological competence and professional demeanor towards decision-makers and larger groups.
• Good understanding of current technology and cloud trends.
• Negotiation skills in German (min. C1) and English.
• Completed studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
