About the Role
The Data Products team is responsible for defining the frontier for data at Slack. We are reimagining insights as well, enabling humans and agents to ask questions and dig into data through intuitive, conversational experiences. We build the internal analytics, data science, and experimentation platforms that power the whole company.
Responsibilities
- Build the context for AI, enabling agents to discover, interpret, and reason over Slack's data with accuracy and confidence.
- Turn insights into action by equipping agents with the tools, MCP servers, and APIs to investigate questions, run analyses, and deliver recommendations.
- Reimagine data exploration by building intuitive, interactive experiences for conversational analytics, dashboards, and notebooks.
- Scale the data experience by evolving our data platform and pipelines to power sophisticated analytical workflows.
- Partner with customers, engineers, and data teams to understand their workflows and where agents fall short.
- Set the strategy and roadmap, then prototype with coding agents alongside engineering and design.
- Define success metrics to guide priorities and iterate after launch.
- Make data-driven decisions the norm by simplifying experimentation and bringing insights into Slack channels.
- Get close to customers (product managers, engineers, designers, data engineers, data scientists) to understand their workflows and pain points.
- Get close to partners (product engineering, data engineering, data science, product management) to understand the full stack.
- Write the strategy and roadmap for your area.
- Write requirements and prototype with coding agents alongside engineering and design.
- Define success metrics and use them to decide priorities and investments.
- Follow up and iterate after launch to ensure success.
- Keep moving Slack toward a data-driven culture.
- Make it easier to design, define, and launch experiments, and to understand and analyze results.
- Bring insights into Slack so teams can share and act on data in channels.
- Partner with product teams to turn internal tools into features for Slack customers.
Requirements
- 5+ years shipping technical products as a PM, data scientist, or analyst who shaped a product roadmap.

- Ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and executives.
- Experience building agents, MCP servers, or LLM products, including their evals.
- Experience shipping data or analytics features to external customers.
- Experience driving adoption of a new tool or practice across an organization.
- Familiarity with semantic layers or data catalogs (dbt, DataHub).
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms (Statsig, Eppo, Optimizely).
