About the Role
Join our global team as an Online US Diploma Life Science 6 Teacher and work with a motivated Grade 6 student in live, personalized one-to-one online lessons. You'll help your student build a strong foundation in life science while developing curiosity, scientific thinking, communication and independent study skills.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality live Grade 6 Life Science lessons tailored to your student's needs, pace and goals.
- Teach key life science concepts, including cells and cell structure, living systems and the human body, genetics and heredity, ecosystems and food webs, adaptation and evolution, and the diversity of living things.
- Guide your student through the scientific method, including asking questions, forming hypotheses, carrying out simple at-home investigations, recording observations and drawing conclusions.
- Develop your student's skills in scientific vocabulary, reading and interpreting data, diagrams and models, and explaining their thinking clearly.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools, such as virtual labs, simulations and interactive resources, to create an interactive and supportive one-to-one learning environment.
- Assess student progress, provide targeted feedback, and adapt teaching approaches to support strong academic outcomes.
- Plan and communicate a clear course schedule, including lesson content, milestones and assessment timelines.
- Set meaningful homework, activities and appropriate assessments.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with the student's family and the CGA team about progress.
- Develop high-quality educational materials and contribute to CGA's learning resources.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years' teaching experience in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of middle school life science content and the US curriculum.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents and the CGA team.
- Familiarity with online teaching platforms and a passion for innovative, technology-enabled education.
