About the Role

Cognex is seeking a Senior Project Manager with external customer-facing experience to join our dynamic team. This role involves integrating Cognex solutions, engaging in pre-sales activities, assessing risks, and delivering cutting-edge technology to meet customer expectations while ensuring company growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and align internal and external resources cost-effectively to meet project schedules.
Maintain and develop strong customer relationships both pre- and post-sale.
Develop project schedules, track progress against milestones, and ensure timely communication of project status.
Create and define project scope documentation, manage scope changes, and handle escalations and conflict resolution.
Present commercial strategies and negotiate resolutions, identifying up-selling opportunities.
Verify project completion and ensure proactive customer acceptance.
Manage all project documentation throughout its lifecycle, providing necessary details for service teams or customers.

Requirements

Strong experience with Project Management processes and PMI standards.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer relationship maintenance skills with the ability to influence.
Strong knowledge of the automation technology industry, including design for manufacturability, assembly, test, and manufacturing test development on industrial, electro-mechanical products.
Strong interpersonal skills to motivate, collaborate, and influence stakeholders.
Advanced time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of data analysis theory, project cost estimation, and profitability analysis.
Ability to plan complex schedules by breaking down tasks to avoid scope creep.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage risks and develop mitigation actions.
Strong understanding of business processes, order proceeding, and project finance.
Ability to handle difficult customer situations and escalate appropriately.
Experience using Project Management tools such as Microsoft Projects.
Ability to rapidly learn new technology and understand new markets.
Ability to be on-call and respond to customer emergencies.
Availability to work evening and weekend hours or varying work patterns.
Must possess English language proficiency.
