About the Role
Drives beauty sales across all brands by maximizing demonstration and artistry techniques, focusing on selling the customer what is right for them. Passionate about the product, thrives in a commissioned sales environment, and committed to providing the best one-on-one customer service.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals, for both in-store and digital selling with effective use of selling tools (inclusive of text and social media)
- Seek industry trends and product knowledge to maintain expertise
- Initiate service consultations by asking open-ended questions to learn the customer's preferences and needs
- Build lasting relationships with customers by following up on purchases, suggesting new products and inviting them to upcoming events
- Grow sales by focusing on appointment-based selling, utilizing technology and opening new Nordstrom Rewards accounts
- Be an entrepreneur, create events in the store, and network in the community
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships within each Beauty brand to identify key focuses and products
Requirements
- 1+ years of Beauty industry experience
- The ability to work a flexible schedule based on department needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and follow-through
- A high level of ownership, accountability and initiative
- The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, which includes frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching in order to handle merchandise and assist customers.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, which includes reaching for and lifting these items above the head.
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds

- $33.75 - $35.10 Hourly
- Commission varies based on merchandise sold (3% to 14.5% for apparel, shoes, accessories; 3% for Beauty and Men’s Fragrance)
