About the Role

DXC Technology's Insurance Software and BPS (ISB) is seeking a ServiceNow Smart Apps Architect to provide technical leadership for designing and developing innovative applications on ServiceNow Financial Services Operations (FSO) and the Assure Platform. This role will shape the architecture and technical direction of Smart Apps, creating scalable, secure, reusable, and upgradeable solutions to support insurance business processes and transform technology environments for leading insurers.

Responsibilities

  • Own Smart App architecture, defining target architecture across ServiceNow FSO, Assure Platform, Assure Orchestration, Insurance Services, integrations, data services, and insurance administration applications.
  • Establish reusable platform patterns, including reference designs, guardrails, shared components, and standards for consistency, reuse, tenant isolation, security, and upgradeability.
  • Apply ServiceNow FSO effectively, determining the appropriate use of native capabilities, scoped components, workflow services, configuration, or Assure-specific extensions for insurance use cases.
  • Design workflow-enabled experiences, guiding responsive user interfaces, workflows, approvals, orchestration flows, events, notifications, and API interactions.
  • Define integration and data patterns for consuming governed data products, invoking transactional APIs, and integrating with events, messaging, ServiceNow Workflow Data Fabric, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Govern data products and schema evolution, defining how Smart Apps consume governed data products and manage changes without tight coupling.
  • Govern DevOps and environment promotion, defining source control, branching, automated testing, configuration capture, approval workflows, rollback practices, and release traceability.
  • Lead architecture governance through design reviews, decision documentation, exception management, and representation in governance forums.
  • Enable delivery execution by translating architecture into implementation guidance, acceptance criteria, reference implementations, and backlog direction.
  • Mentor and influence teams by coaching architects and engineers, reviewing designs, promoting patterns, and building shared understanding.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience designing enterprise applications, SaaS solutions, or complex software platforms across the full delivery lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting scoped applications, workflow-driven solutions, reusable components, and release practices on ServiceNow.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow Financial Services Operations and its application to insurance-oriented solutions.
  • Ability to design across ServiceNow, Assure Orchestration, Insurance Services, the Assure Platform, and core insurance administration applications.
  • Experience designing responsive interfaces, REST APIs, webhooks, event-driven patterns, governed data products, data synchronization, ServiceNow Workflow Data Fabric integrations, security protocols, error handling, and observability.
  • Experience with Git-based source control, automated pipelines, configuration promotion, testing, approvals, rollback, and release traceability.
  • Knowledge of tenant isolation, RBAC, identity federation, OAuth, SAML, OIDC, encryption, secrets management, privacy, audit, and least-privilege design.
  • Ability to explain architecture clearly to diverse audiences and drive decisions across organizational boundaries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
