About the Role

The Area Marketing Director leads integrated marketing for four Millennium and M Social hotels in New York City, driving brand awareness, direct revenue, guest engagement, F&B performance, partnerships and market presence. This role sets each hotel's marketing strategy, leads digital, social, PR, content, partnerships, programming and agency work, and connects property execution with commercial priorities, corporate marketing standards and Millennium brand and digital strategy. This Area role is an ideal stepping stone toward gaining multi-hotel oversight experience in preparation for a larger regional oversight responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver an annual marketing plan for each hotel, using the corporate planning framework, that reflects each hotel's positioning, guest segments and commercial priorities.
  • Apply corporate marketing standards across brand, PR, social, programming and performance measurement, adapting them to each hotel and to Millennium brand standards.
  • Localize and execute Millennium global and corporate campaigns in line with each hotel's commercial priorities, while owning property-level marketing performance.
  • Monitor NYC hospitality, travel, dining, lifestyle, entertainment and consumer trends to identify new marketing and commercial opportunities.
  • Partner with the on-property commercial team (Sales, Revenue Management, E-commerce and F&B) to align marketing with occupancy, revenue, direct booking and business goals.
  • Lead digital marketing across paid media, search, metasearch, SEO, social, CRM, email and content, with a clear focus on conversion, direct bookings and return on investment.
  • Own property-level digital campaigns for rooms and F&B, including offers, paid digital, programmatic and paid social, in coordination with E-commerce and Revenue Management.
  • Keep property content on Brand.com current and accurate (copy, imagery, offers and hotel information), working with the Sitecore and Global Digital teams.
  • Provide content, offers and campaign inputs for property CRM and loyalty programs, in partnership with the Global Digital Marketing & Platforms team, which manages the platforms.
  • Work with Amadeus and other technology partners to improve digital visibility, customer acquisition and booking performance.
  • Ensure all property digital activity follows Millennium Global Digital governance, brand standards, technology and reporting requirements.
  • Lead social media strategy, content calendars, creator and influencer relationships, community engagement, photography, video and storytelling.
  • Own property-level paid social performance supporting rooms, F&B, offers and activations.
  • Oversee creative assets, campaigns, brand communications and collateral across the four hotels, in line with corporate creative standards and Millennium brand guidelines.
  • Drive media relations, press, influencer engagement and earned media for the hotels and their F&B outlets.
  • Build partnerships with NYC hospitality, lifestyle, entertainment, cultural, tourism, corporate and media organizations that generate awareness, traffic and revenue.
  • Create programming, activations and experiences around major NYC events, holidays, cultural moments, fashion, sports and seasonal opportunities.
  • Lead marketing for restaurants, bars, lounges and F&B outlets, including programming, promotions, collaborations and pop-ups that drive local and in-house guest visits.
  • Develop and run paid digital and paid social campaigns for F&B outlets to build awareness, drive covers and grow revenue.
  • Manage PR, social, digital, creative and other marketing agencies: set objectives, manage budgets, monitor performance and ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Work within corporate agency guidelines, including preferred-partner frameworks as they are established, and manage agency transitions in line with the Millennium operating model and contract timelines.
  • Own the area marketing budget and clear KPIs for digital, social, PR, partnerships, activations, F&B and campaigns.
  • Report monthly on marketing performance and return on investment using corporate standard reporting, and present property results in Millennium Digital Marketing Performance Reviews.
  • Prepare marketing updates for hotel leadership, ownership and asset management.
  • Use analytics and commercial insight to benchmark performance and continually improve marketing ROI.
  • Act as the marketing lead for the four hotels, working closely with General Managers, the commercial team, Corporate Marketing and the Millennium Global teams.
  • Lead and develop any marketing team members and agency partners, building a culture of creativity, accountability, collaboration and measurable results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business or Marketing preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience in hospitality, hotels, restaurants, lifestyle, travel or entertainment, including multi-property or area-level responsibility.
  • Proven experience in digital marketing, social media, PR, partnerships, F&B marketing, experiential activations and agency management.
  • Hands-on experience with hotel digital platforms, Brand.com, Sitecore, CRM, paid media and performance reporting, with clear commercial accountability.
  • Strong commercial and analytical mindset; excellent communication, project management, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
