This is a hands-on contract role with end-to-end technical ownership, from discovery and solution design through configuration, data integration, migration, testing, and production launch. You will collaborate with client stakeholders and internal teams to build a secure, scalable platform for personalized customer engagement.
Responsibilities

- Configure the new Braze instance, including workspaces, access controls, channels, and governance.
- Design customer identity, event taxonomies, data mappings, subscriptions, and consent management.
- Architect SDK, API, CDP, and warehouse integrations using Braze CDI and Currents.
- Build efficient data models that balance personalization with platform limits.
- Plan the migration of data, audiences, templates, campaigns, and automated journeys.
- Establish security, privacy, and compliance controls.
- Lead email authentication, IP and domain warming, deliverability, and suppression synchronization.
- Enable multichannel messaging and advanced personalization using Canvas Flow, Liquid, and Connected Content.
- Manage testing, cutover, launch support, documentation, and operational handover.
- Explain technical decisions clearly and manage risks, dependencies, and trade-offs.
Requirements
- Proven experience migrating a CRM, marketing automation, or customer engagement platform to Braze.
- Hands-on experience establishing a new Braze instance through to production.
- Strong knowledge of Braze data structures, identity management, segmentation, Canvas, campaigns, and personalization.
- Practical experience with REST APIs, JSON, SDKs, and customer data pipelines.
- Experience preserving consent, preferences, and suppression rules during migration.
- Deep knowledge of email infrastructure and deliverability, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and IP warming.
- Experience leading workshops and coordinating delivery across client, agency, and platform teams.
- Confidence managing testing, cutover, production issues, and handover.
- The ability to work independently and resolve delivery risks proactively.
- Relevant Braze certifications.
- Migration experience involving Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, or Oracle Responsys.
- Experience with CDPs and cloud data warehouses.
- Agency or consultancy experience delivering complex client implementations.
- Include brief, anonymised examples of relevant projects, covering the migration scope, personal responsibilities, Braze implementation, challenges resolved, and production outcome.
