About the Role
The Delivery Specialist is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of Cirona Labs products to retail locations. This role requires safe operation of a commercial delivery vehicle, physical fitness for handling products, and excellent customer service while adhering to New York State cannabis transportation regulations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company delivery vehicle while following all traffic laws and company driving policies.
- Complete and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues immediately.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload product cases and totes, ensuring product safety.
- Repeatedly lift, carry, and move product weighing approximately 25–50 pounds, navigating various terrains.
- Verify delivery manifests against physical product counts and maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation.
- Obtain required customer signatures and complete all delivery documentation accurately.
- Communicate proactively with Dispatch and the Distribution Supervisor regarding delays or exceptions.
- Utilize GPS navigation and routing software to maximize delivery efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure delivery vehicle.
- Deliver professional and courteous customer service.
- Comply with all New York Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) regulations, company security procedures, and chain-of-custody requirements.
- Immediately report accidents, damaged product, safety concerns, or near misses.
- Cross-train and provide operational support within the Picking Department as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid New York State Driver's License (Class D or higher) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of professional driving experience.
- Experience operating a box truck or cargo van in local traffic, residential streets, and loading dock environments.
- No DUI/DWI convictions and no more than two (2) moving violations or at-fault accidents within the past three (3) years.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review and criminal background check.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Employees are expected to wear company-approved attire, including jeans and any required personal protective equipment (PPE), while maintaining a clean, professional appearance.
