About the Role

The Commercial Counsel will ensure that the company's CCS Business Units receive proper legal advice and support on a broad range of commercial matters, including negotiations and general commercial relationship questions and disputes. This role involves managing numerous large and complex projects and transactions simultaneously, including negotiating complex, multi-party product, joint development, and manufacturing contracts with major corporations.

Responsibilities

Manage numerous large and complex projects and transactions simultaneously.
Plan and negotiate complex, multi-party product, joint development, and manufacturing contracts.
Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of commercial matters.
Handle negotiations and general commercial relationship questions and disputes.
Ensure proper legal advice is provided and/or obtained from external counsel.
Interpret legal advice pragmatically.
Draft sophisticated contractual documents.
Mentor junior team members in drafting contractual documents.
Develop and implement new global processes in a team-based environment.

Excellent negotiating skills, perception management skills, and relationship management skills.
Minimum of three years of solid corporate/commercial legal experience gained in a respected law firm.
In-house experience with a major corporation would be a plus.
Experience in technology, communications, and manufacturing is an asset.
