About the Role
Performs layout of specific, trade-related features using sensitive instrumentation like robotic total stations. Interfaces with VDC and Production teams to set up and maintain project files and production.
Responsibilities
- Performs preliminary MEP Survey work for preparing plans and estimating costs for construction layout and as-built completion.
- Responsible for the setup and maintenance of essential mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Control point's and field point creation and maintenance.
- Utilizes advanced instrumentation and tools to create precise layouts for construction projects.
- Inspects to ensure compliance with construction specifications.
- Reviews preliminary construction plans for completeness.
- Aligns project layout with reference stakes and guidelines.
- Projects size and organization of work to determine day-to-day duties.
- Meets with field Superintendents and project managers to satisfy survey and/or as-built requirements.
- Prepares survey and/or as-built information for delivery to clients.
- Coordinates with VDC and production teams to perform layout within the job-site schedule.
- Locates MEP features and documents data indicating existing conditions or conflicts with the design model.
- Assists other MEP Surveyors to complete layout and data collection with high accuracy.
- Maintains a project database regarding job progress and records, and reports potential issues.
- Creates layout files using AutoCad or similar platforms.
- Assists with the training of MEP Surveyor I partners.
- May require travel amongst different TDI geographies.
- May require the installation of fixtures, inserts, or other features located by layout.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Requires a technological comfort level, quick learner, and attention to detail in the field.
- Must be willing to work outdoors or on construction project jobsites subject to extreme heat and cold, noise, vibrations and dust.
