About the Role
Boson AI is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the Higgs Audio product line from research to release. This role involves planning and executing releases, maintaining quality standards, prioritizing issues, managing schedules, and relaying customer feedback to the team. You will collaborate with researchers, engineers, and customers, requiring technical proficiency to debug issues, analyze reports, and assess generated speech. This is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role with significant ownership of the Higgs Audio roadmap and releases.
Responsibilities
- Own Higgs Audio releases from plan to launch, including setting schedules, running go/no-go reviews, and ensuring documentation, release notes, model cards, and changelogs are updated.
- Coordinate release distribution across multiple channels: API, Boson Workspace, Hugging Face, GitHub repositories, and hosting partners.
- Manage quality control by defining and enforcing release quality standards, including error rates, voice cloning similarity, expressiveness, latency, and cost.
- Triage and prioritize bug reports and feature requests from various sources, assigning owners and ensuring resolution.
- Manage project schedules by breaking down goals into milestones, tracking dependencies, and identifying risks.
- Gather customer insights through direct interaction, beta programs, usage data, and support tickets to inform product requirements and priorities.
- Ensure smooth integration of model changes into dependent products like Higgs VoiceOver.
- Manage versioning and deprecation processes, including migration guides and deprecation notices.
- Track and report on key metrics such as release cadence, customer-facing regressions, issue resolution time, adoption, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 5+ years of project, program, or product management experience with software products.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with technical products like APIs, developer platforms, or ML models.
- Proven track record of shipping on schedule, including experience with release processes, launch checklists, and go/no-go decisions.
- Technical fluency with Python, REST and streaming APIs, GitHub, and issue trackers.
- Ability to reproduce bugs, read logs, and analyze evaluation results.
- Experience translating customer feedback and usage data into prioritized requirements.
- Strong judgment and the ability to decline requests when necessary.
- Clear and concise writing skills for specifications, release notes, and status updates.
- Proficiency in using AI tools to enhance work efficiency.
- Ability to work from Santa Clara HQ or Toronto office on a hybrid schedule.
