About the Role

Lead the creation and evolution of the treasury function for a newly established, standalone global business with approximately $1.3 billion in annual revenue and operations in the United States, Canada, and China. This role offers a unique opportunity to build the treasury strategy, governance, systems, policies, and operating model from the ground up while supporting separation, stabilization, and future growth. As a key strategic partner to executive leadership and the Board, you will provide leadership across liquidity, funding, capital structure, cash deployment, financial risk management, and global banking and payment operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the standalone treasury strategy, operating model, governance framework, policies, and capabilities for a $1.3 billion global business.
  • Lead treasury separation and Day 1 readiness, including banking infrastructure, signatory governance, payment authorities, cash visibility, and transition from parent-company services.
  • Establish scalable treasury processes, controls, systems, data, and reporting to support operations across the United States, Canada, and China.
  • Develop and execute the roadmap for transitioning from temporary service arrangements to a fully standalone treasury operating model.
  • Develop short- and long-term liquidity plans, cash forecasts, and contingency funding strategies aligned with business needs and growth objectives.
  • Develop and execute an efficient capital structure and funding strategy, including debt facilities, transitional or intercompany funding, investments, dividends, and repatriation.
  • Maintain reliable access to liquidity and manage key relationships with banks, lenders, and financing partners.
  • Establish and oversee the global banking architecture, cash concentration, payment and collection structures, and account governance.
  • Lead cash positioning and working capital management in partnership with Finance, Commercial, and Operations teams.
  • Ensure banking and payment processes are secure, resilient, cost-effective, and supported by effective fraud-prevention controls.
  • Establish and oversee policies, limits, and hedging strategies for foreign exchange, interest rate, liquidity, credit, and counterparty risk.
  • Monitor financial exposures across currencies and markets and provide clear, timely risk reporting to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Maintain appropriate contingency funding, business continuity, and financial resilience plans.
  • Implement effective treasury controls, delegated authorities, compliance monitoring, accounting interfaces, and management reporting.
  • Lead treasury technology, bank connectivity, automation, and process standardization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Tax, Legal, IT, Procurement, Internal Audit, and external advisors on separation activities and strategic initiatives.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, scalable treasury organization, defining internal and outsourced responsibilities and developing team capabilities.
  • Establish clear priorities, accountability, and ways of working to support the organization's evolving business needs and long-term growth.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, agility, and adaptability, guiding through business transformation, process simplification, and digital innovation while influencing stakeholders to embrace new technologies, streamlined processes, and evolving business priorities.

  • MBA, CTP, CFA, or comparable advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive treasury and finance experience, including leadership within a complex or multinational organization.
  • Demonstrated experience building, separating, or transforming a treasury function, ideally within a standalone, carve-out, spin-off, or rapidly evolving organization.
  • Strong experience across liquidity planning, cash forecasting, funding, banking, payments, working capital, and financial risk management.
  • Experience supporting multiple countries and jurisdictions; experience with the United States, Canada, and China is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience negotiating credit facilities and banking services and managing relationships with banks, lenders, advisors, and service providers.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance, treasury accounting, tax, and internal controls, with working knowledge of treasury management systems, ERP platforms, and bank connectivity.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement treasury policies, controls, systems, and reporting frameworks within an evolving business environment.
  • Strong strategic judgment, executive-level communication, Board presentation, negotiation, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural leadership skills, combined with a hands-on and adaptable approach.
