This role is accountable for the GH&B AI Ready Data Warehouse, establishing ontologies and relationships across commercial, manufacturing, supply, and pricing data, and enforcing data governance standards. The role ensures the ongoing maintenance, reliability, and functionality of GH&B's production data applications and platforms. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role focused on architectural ownership and influencing through expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Own the GH&B AI Ready Data Warehouse (Snowflake), including its data model and readiness for AI/ML use cases.
  • Establish and maintain ontologies and semantic relationships across GH&B data domains for consistent definition, connection, and reusability.
  • Own end-to-end data governance for GH&B, ensuring alignment with Pfizer enterprise data standards, access controls, quality rules, and stewardship.
  • Implement automated data quality monitoring and alerting to catch violations before they reach business users.
  • Own production reliability for GH&B's data applications and platforms, defining uptime and freshness expectations, and leading incident response.
  • Monitor data quality feeding production AI/ML models, detect drift, and partner with the Advanced Data Analytics & AI Solutions team.
  • Establish version control and a testing/release process for changes to the warehouse, ontology, dashboards, and models.
  • Administer role-based access to GH&B's data platforms to protect sensitive data, partnering with Legal/Privacy.
  • Maintain current technical documentation and runbooks for the warehouse, ontology, and production platforms.
  • Partner closely with GH&B Digital and enterprise Digital & Technology to align GH&B's data architecture with enterprise direction.
  • Direct contingent contractor resources building and maintaining GH&B's AI and analytics models and production applications.
  • Serve as the single accountable owner of GH&B data quality, lineage, and trustworthiness across GH&B data products and dashboards.
  • Partner with GH&B stakeholders to prioritize the data and governance roadmap against business needs.
  • Evaluate new data and ontology requests, assess feasibility and risk, and route them appropriately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8+ years of experience; OR a Master’s degree with more than 7+ years of experience; OR a Ph.D. with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience in data architecture, data management, data engineering, or data governance.
  • Pharmaceutical, biosimilars, or hospital-market industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building and operating enterprise data warehouses or AI-ready data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) supporting business-critical reporting and analytics.
  • High proficiency in SQL and Python and regular coding in production contexts; comfortable reviewing and correcting code.
  • Experience architecting for unstructured data (documents, text, transcripts, images): extraction, chunking, enrichment and metadata strategies for AI consumption.
  • Hands-on experience with Collibra for data cataloguing, lineage and data governance workflows.
  • Experience establishing data ontologies, taxonomies, or semantic/knowledge-graph models connecting multiple data domains.
  • Experience setting and enforcing data governance standards (quality, access, stewardship) in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience directing contingent contractor or vendor engineering resources.
  • Applied working knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts, including what "AI-ready" data architecture requires.
  • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and operating effectively without direct authority.
