About the Role
This role involves helping leading private equity firms, financial institutions, and their portfolio companies achieve measurable business value through sustainability, climate, and energy initiatives. You will build and grow strategic relationships across the financial sector, working with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities, shape solutions, and drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with private equity firms, banks, asset managers, and other financial institutions, engaging senior decision-makers across sustainability, investment, and value creation functions.
- Build relationships across the private equity ecosystem, including GP-level ESG and sustainability teams, value creation and portfolio operations teams, investment/deal teams, and portfolio-company management.
- Engage with CIB, Sustainable Finance, ESG, and Corporate Banking teams within banking clients, identifying opportunities both within the financial institution and through their corporate client base.
- Own the full sales cycle, from account development and opportunity identification through solution shaping, proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Develop opportunities at both fund/institution level and portfolio/company level, connecting client priorities with relevant sustainability, climate, energy, and decarbonisation solutions.
- Lead consultative sales engagements, translating sustainability, regulatory, and investor requirements into practical commercial propositions and measurable business outcomes.
- Work closely with internal subject-matter experts and teams across Schneider Electric to address complex client needs.
- Develop strategic account plans, build and maintain a strong pipeline, and identify opportunities to expand relationships across client organisations and portfolios.
- Stay informed about developments in private markets and financial services, using an understanding of evolving sustainability expectations, regulation, and market trends to identify new areas of client demand.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally within private equity, banking, asset management, financial services, sustainability advisory, or B2B sales to financial institutions.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, consultative sales, client relationship management, or account development, preferably with sophisticated financial-sector clients.
- Good understanding of the private equity investment lifecycle and/or banking environment, including the priorities of ESG teams, investment/deal teams, value creation teams, portfolio companies, CIB, and corporate banking.
- Familiarity with relevant sustainability frameworks and initiatives such as UN PRI, SBTi, and PMDR, and with the regulatory landscape affecting financial institutions, including areas such as SFDR, ORSA, and EBA requirements.
- Ability to understand how sustainability and climate topics connect with investment decisions, portfolio value creation, risk management, decarbonisation, and operational performance.
- Executive presence and confidence engaging senior client stakeholders and navigating complex organisations.
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to independently identify opportunities, prioritise accounts, and progress complex sales.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- French and/or German language skills are a strong advantage, particularly for developing relationships across European financial markets.
- Experience working in an international, cross-functional environment is an advantage.
