About the Role

Keep the platform fast and private for over 80 million monthly active users by designing and running the Kubernetes and data infrastructure. Turn your expertise into self-service tools for product teams, enabling them to ship features autonomously without sacrificing stability or security.

Responsibilities

Architect and evolve the EKS estate, including cluster lifecycle, upgrades, networking, autoscaling, and workload isolation.
Manage the Helm and Terraform deployments onto the EKS estate.
Shape how services utilize PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Kafka, setting patterns for provisioning, access, backup, failover, and capacity.
Build self-service tooling and Terraform modules to provide product teams with autonomy.
Lead resilience efforts, including business continuity planning, disaster recovery testing, and establishing a sustainable on-call rotation.
Support the infrastructure for privacy features like 'Anonymous Mode'.
Maintain SOC2, ISO 27001, and ISO 27701 certifications.
Implement observability to proactively identify issues through metrics, logs, and traces.

Requirements

Many years of experience in infrastructure, platform, SRE, or DevOps roles running high-traffic, distributed systems in production.
Experience operating at Principal or Staff scope, setting direction across teams and delivering results.
Production experience running Kubernetes, ideally EKS, with a deep understanding of its inner workings.
Awareness of how PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Kafka behave under load and during failures.
Strong AWS knowledge and fluency in Terraform.
Experience with AI automation's impact on development teams and the software delivery lifecycle, with ideas on infrastructure support.
A doc-first habit and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed product teams.
