About the Role
The Cleaner will perform a variety of custodial duties under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, adhering to established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings.
- Operate light and heavy commercial floor machines, including buffers and shampoo machines.
- Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas, performing spot cleaning and shampooing as directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
- Wash windowsills, interior door glass, partition glass, and specified windows.
- Wash glass and trim at entrance doors (interior/exterior).
- Spot clean interior walls as appropriate on a daily basis.
- Clean bathrooms daily, restocking paper supplies, damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
- Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, reporting them to supervisors.
- Collect building trash daily, placing it in approved containers and designated collection areas.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specifications.
- Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.
- Perform periodic tasks including high dusting, cleaning leather and wood surfaces, polishing, and wall washing.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Basic cleaning responsibilities require no previous experience.
- Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
- Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
