About the Role
Lead the development of our ecommerce site and systems, blending strategic product thinking with hands-on software development to create exceptional digital experiences that drive growth across enterprise and DTC segments. This unique role offers the opportunity to both shape and build our digital future at a well-funded startup.
Responsibilities
- Define strategy, create roadmaps, and prioritize features.
- Collaborate with stakeholders.
- Hands-on coding to implement key features and contribute to the codebase.
- Participate in technical execution.
- Own the ecommerce roadmap, including sprint management and prioritization.
- Write clear product specifications.
- Work with design, development, and growth stakeholders to guide features from spec to shipped.
- Own site merchandising strategy, including product, bundle, and upsell placement.
- Validate complex project requirements and provide technical feasibility assessments.
- Be accountable for primary transactional metrics (AOV, CVR, RPV) and secondary metrics (site speed).
- Collaborate with growth, customer success, and sales teams to collect user feedback and insights.
- Analyze Google Analytics for quantitative insights.
- Develop and prioritize feature ideas based on data and insights.
- Liaise with internal and external development partners for feature development.
- Perform QA across devices and platforms.
- Ship tasks and features directly.
- Partner with executives and cross-functional teams to set broader product strategy, including infrastructure decisions like headless.
- Contribute to brand and design decisions affecting our digital identity.
Requirements
- 3-6+ years of relevant product management and software development experience, preferably at a high-growth ecommerce startup.
- Experience managing a sprint planning process and owning a product roadmap.
- Deep knowledge of Shopify Plus and the Shopify ecosystem.
- Strong portfolio featuring experience shipping exceptional products that users love.
- Proven coding ability and technical implementation skills.
- Experience accurately estimating development costs for complex projects.
- Experience validating technical specifications.
- Proficiency with versioning and data integration technologies: Git version control, REST API.
- Experience with front-end and scripting languages (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid, React).
- Experience experimenting with modern web frameworks (Node.js, Command Line, GraphQL, and TypeScript).
- Data-driven, analytical approach to planning; use data to inform the digital product roadmap and sprint prioritization.
- Passion for defining processes, systems, and documentation.
- Superlative attention to detail in the digital product development process, from spec to QA.
- Strong bias for action and a thirst to learn.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication.
