About the Role
We are looking for a Floor Manager to bring good energy, confident leadership, and a genuine love of hosting to The Hoxton, Charlottenburg. You will lead from the floor, help your team shine, and make Charlotte's a place our neighbours and hotel guests want to return to. Reporting to the Restaurant & Bar Manager, you will take charge of day-to-day floor operations at Charlotte's, including the Lobby, and support breakfast, meetings, and events as required. You will bring the team, service, and commercial details together, ensuring every shift runs smoothly and every guest feels looked after.
Responsibilities
- Lead from the front and set the vibe, creating a warm, relaxed atmosphere.
- Manage all-day operations from breakfast to late-night drinks.
- Foster teamwork and ensure smooth service operations.
- Oversee daily closing procedures and support management with weekly/monthly tasks.
- Coach, inspire, and develop the team, providing constructive feedback.
- Support private events and ensure smooth execution.
- Lead daily briefings to communicate priorities to the team.
- Collaborate with Restaurant Manager, Head Bartender, and Head Chef on food and beverage operations.
- Develop in-depth menu knowledge and provide personalized recommendations.
- Maintain opening and closing routines, cleanliness, and daily duties.
- Ensure maintenance issues are addressed and spaces are well-presented.
- Communicate effectively in English and German.
Requirements
- Experience as a Floor Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, or Assistant Restaurant Manager in a busy restaurant, hotel bar, or lifestyle hotel.
- Ability to lead a shift with confidence.
- Natural hosting ability with a balance of relaxed atmosphere and attentive service.
- Hands-on leadership skills, including running briefings and coaching.
- Good understanding of food, wine, cocktails, and coffee.
- Proficiency with POS systems, cash controls, stock counts, and daily reporting.
- Practical understanding of sales and labour costs.
- Clear communication skills for interacting with guests, neighbours, and international teams.
- Sound judgment for handling guest complaints and team challenges.
- Understanding of food safety, allergens, responsible alcohol service, and safe working practices.
- Flexibility to work early/late shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Willingness to support the wider F&B operation when needed.
- A personality that embraces warmth, good ideas, and individuality.
- A collaborative approach, leaving egos at the door.
- A willingness to try new things and be part of a supportive team.
