About the Role

We are reimagining the Carwow app to become the primary destination for UK drivers, making the process of changing cars seamless. This role is the product voice, setting the direction and collaborating with design and engineering to build an AI-powered app that understands and acts on behalf of users.

Responsibilities

  • Set the product direction for the Carwow consumer app, defining what we build, in what order, and why.
  • Lead discovery work with consumers through interviews, usage data, and behavioural analysis to identify areas of maximum app value.
  • Identify, prototype, and ship opportunities to integrate AI into the app for smarter discovery, personalization, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager, Designer, and Engineers as a product trio to ship well-scoped solutions with clear success metrics.
  • Manage the backlog with commercial awareness, prioritizing work that drives engagement, retention, and revenue.
  • Work with design to shape journeys and screens, testing them with users before engineering begins.
  • Partner with engineers on native app trade-offs, including release cadence, quality, and build versus reuse decisions.
  • Utilize AI tools daily for prototyping, research synthesis, and data analysis to accelerate squad learning and shipping.
  • Work across product, engineering, data, CRM, and marketing to ensure coherent priorities and shipping.
  • Communicate strategy and trade-offs clearly to leadership and stakeholders, both written and verbally.
  • Own the app's success measures and use evidence, including holdouts and controlled tests, to inform scaling, changing, or stopping decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including owning a consumer mobile app with demonstrated improvements in engagement or retention metrics.
  • Hands-on experience with product discovery, including conducting interviews, interrogating data, and forming hypotheses.
  • Daily use of AI tools, experience shipping or prototyping AI-powered features, and a clear point of view on AI's value for consumers.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, including defining problems and adapting to evolving scope.
  • Proven partnership with design and engineering, including experience working as a product trio and discussing journeys, architecture, and app quality.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex trade-offs simply.
