About the Role
Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. We are seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team, contributing to our mission of serving clients and employees.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured
- Escorting contractors and visitors as required
- Maintaining professional working relationships with employees, visitors, and clients
- Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and deportment
- Providing assistance to employees, clients, and visitors
- Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary
- Performing other duties as required by the client
- Standing or sitting for extended periods
- Monitoring the work area
- Conducting patrols and responding to alarms
Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to complete frequent patrols
- Ability to speak, read, and communicate in English fluently
- Excellent customer service and reception skills
- Ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service
- Ability to obtain security clearance (resident in Canada 5 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)
- Highly reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to multitask
- Professional demeanor and appearance
