About the Role
Aduna is seeking a hands-on Senior Staff Accountant to support a growing, fast-moving business. This role will own key accounting activities while flexing across financial analysis, payroll support, and special projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating without layers of infrastructure or narrowly defined boundaries, bringing discipline and high standards together with resourcefulness and a willingness to roll up their sleeves.
Responsibilities
- Own key elements of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and help produce accurate, timely financial statements and management reporting.
- Analyze results, investigate variances, identify trends and underlying drivers, and translate findings into clear business insights.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow analysis, and other financial planning activities.
- Partner with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to support accurate payroll processing, reconciliations, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Support the controller with special projects.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense management, tax, audit, and compliance activities as needed.
- Take on special projects that may sit outside traditional accounting, using sound judgment and analytical skills to solve practical business problems.
- Help strengthen controls, documentation, reporting, and processes while keeping solutions fit for the size and stage of the company.
- Collaborate across functions and geographies, communicating financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
- Work effectively with external auditors, tax advisors, payroll partners, banks, and other service providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent designation is helpful but not required.
- Five to seven years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful ownership of close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- A hands-on, team-first mindset, with the ability to lead when needed and roll up your sleeves to get the work done.
- Strong communicator who builds effective working relationships with colleagues and partners across different cultures, geographies, functions, and professional backgrounds.
- Experience working in treasury, travel and expense processing and management, and procurement.
- Experience in a small company, high-growth business, or start-up where priorities shift and team members contribute beyond their core remit.
- Experience in a larger, well-established organization that has provided exposure to strong controls, disciplined processes, and high-quality financial reporting.
- Strong financial analysis skills, including variance analysis, forecasting, data interpretation, and the ability to communicate conclusions clearly.
- Advanced Excel or spreadsheet skills and experience working Netsuite; comfort learning new tools quickly.
- Working knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency, or cross-border operations is a strong advantage.
- Global accounting, international payroll, or geographically dispersed business experience is helpful but not required.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the country where they will be employed.
