About the Role
As a Senior Associate on the Client Engagement and Events Strategy team, you will play a central role in designing and delivering event strategy and execution across North America. You'll manage, support, and activate proprietary events and strategic partnerships that connect founders, high-growth companies, and the venture capital ecosystem with the firm. Your work will directly influence how clients experience and engage with JPMorganChase.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead event strategist for a select portfolio of Innovation Economy client engagement events and sponsorships, supporting founders, high-growth clients, and the venture capital ecosystem
- Partner with business stakeholders across the Innovation Economy team to manage the full event lifecycle—including agenda development, content strategy, speaker selection and preparation, competitive research, and on-site execution
- Drive regular planning sessions with business leads, manage ongoing check-in cadences, and maintain budget oversight across the event portfolio
- Own invitation strategy and attendee communications end-to-end, including creation, testing, distribution, and follow-up outreach
- Collaborate closely with the Event Production team on logistical execution of best-in-class programs, occasionally managing production workstreams and vendor relationships directly
- Build and maintain project plans, operational documents, and collateral materials from kickoff through closeout
- Maintain accurate attendee and registration data across customer relationship management and registration platforms; analyze attendance trends and engagement metrics to continuously optimize event strategy
- Track budgets, invoices, approvals, and payments with clean documentation and up-to-date budget actuals
- Prepare hosts and speakers with clear, well-coordinated briefs to ensure differentiated, high-signal content delivery
- Lead post-event debriefs, oversee scorecard completion, and produce clear reporting and retention documentation to capture key takeaways and return on investment
- Contribute to annual planning with a focus on innovative formats, differentiated content, and cross-team collaboration across the broader Commercial Banking events strategy team
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on Client Engagement and Events Strategy concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5 years of experience in event or sponsorship management; background in marketing, communications, business development, or public relations, as is experience working with founders, investors, startups, or high-growth companies
- Exceptional executive presence—consistently polished, professional, and effective with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to build trust, influence outcomes, and represent the firm in high-visibility, client-facing environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and organizational discipline
- Strong sense of personal accountability, professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in navigating sensitive situations
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, adapt to shifting priorities, and execute under tight deadlines
- Willingness to support off-hours execution and travel as needed (approximately 20–25%), with higher volume during peak seasons
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with hands-on experience using customer relationship management and event registration/RSVP platforms
- Prior experience in financial services or working alongside financial institutions
- Familiarity with the Innovation Economy ecosystem, including venture capital, startups, or high-growth technology companies
- Experience with Stova or comparable event management platforms
- Demonstrated ability to tailor event strategies and engagement approaches to distinct client segments and industries
- Track record of producing measurable return on investment analyses and post-event reporting that inform future programming decisions
