About the Role
As a Senior Business Developer, you will drive the expansion of our sales in the funding sector. You will leverage your network in the funding environment to open market access for existing and new clients, transforming market opportunities into a solid pipeline. You will collaborate closely with our core team to ensure ideas and proposals are technically sound. The focus is on the current priorities of our domain: the competition for funding platforms and funding data management, tenders from state funding banks, and proactive market access through federal and state governments.
Responsibilities
- Identify market potentials in the funding sector, particularly in funding platforms, funding data management, and state funding banks.
- Develop sales approaches, oversee their implementation, and derive concrete growth initiatives, for example, in the context of the new tender for funding data management.
- Prepare opportunities from tenders and support them from a sales perspective.
- Participate in Bid/No-Bid decisions and the proposal strategy, and keep the CRM pipeline up-to-date.
- Expand customer relationships in federal and state governments, including existing and new clients at the federal level, with funding banks, and in departments.
- Utilize and strategically develop your network to build long-term partnerships.
- Conduct discussions at the decision-maker level, identify needs early, and translate them into proposals together with the core team.
- Monitor regulatory and institutional developments in the funding sector, such as OZG, NOOTS, and register modernization, and translate them into market opportunities.
Requirements
- A solid network in the funding sector that you will strategically develop further.
- Completed university degree, ideally in administrative sciences, economics, political science, public management, financial sciences, or a comparable field.
- In-depth understanding of the German funding system.
- Several years of experience in business development, sales, or consulting in the public sector.
- Drive for action, entrepreneurial thinking, and the ability to actively advance client and new client business.
- Very good communication and presentation skills, confident demeanor at the decision-maker level.
- Very good German language skills, both written and spoken.
- Plus: Professional understanding of public procurement procedures.
- Plus: Basic technical understanding of specialist architectures in the funding context.
