About the Role
Viridor is seeking an Operations Support Technician to join their team at the Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) in Beddington. This role is crucial for supporting the operations team by planning, implementing, and monitoring systems and processes to maximize plant performance while ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the operations team at the ERF site.
- Plan, implement, and monitor systems and processes through good practice.
- Maximize process efficiency and ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Act as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) complying with the ERF Safe Systems of Work.
- Supervise contractors carrying out activities on site.
- Provide cover for shift operatives during absences.
- Provide cover for day operation team members for leave and training.
- Build and maintain relationships with colleagues for effective communication.
- Be totally flexible and carry out other duties as identified to ensure site objectives are achieved.
Requirements
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication skills required at all levels; both verbally and written.
- Ability to carry out team briefings, participate in detailed shift handovers, and write concise reports.
- Maintenance Management Systems knowledge
- Good understanding of environmental health & safety within a process or power industry.
- Process or Power Plant experience.
- Experience in safe systems of work, issuing Permits To Work / safety documentation and systems.
- Experience in the operation of mobile plant.
- Senior Authorised Person (SAP) qualification.
