About the Role
Join our Healthcare & Life Sciences Digital Consulting Team as a (Senior) Consultant Data Science & (Gen)AI to advance your skills in Data Science, AI, and Generative AI within management consulting. You will support leading companies in the pharma, biotech, and healthcare sectors in their digital transformation by combining technological expertise with business challenges, developing innovative data-driven solutions, and actively participating in client projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement ML and AI models, as well as AI agents for clients in Life Sciences, Pharma, and Healthcare, utilizing sound statistical and analytical methods.
- Prepare complex datasets for analysis and modeling, identify relevant correlations, and derive robust insights, particularly concerning pharmaceutical, medical, and health economics issues.
- Translate business requirements and client needs from the Life Sciences and Healthcare industries into analytical and technical solutions with project teams.
- Work at the intersection of Data Science, technology, and consulting, understanding business challenges, structuring problems, and deriving actionable recommendations from analyses.
- Contribute to classic consulting tasks beyond technical implementation, including structuring questions, conducting analyses, preparing results, and creating presentations and decision papers.
- Take ownership of your work area, independently structure tasks, and clearly communicate approaches, scope, and outcomes within the project team.
- Prepare technical and analytical results in an audience-appropriate manner and communicate them clearly to business teams, clients, and other stakeholders in the Life Sciences, Pharma, and Healthcare sectors.
- Utilize analytical thinking to question results, identify patterns and correlations, and help clients gain relevant insights from data for strategic and operational decisions.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business or Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a strong quantitative and analytical foundation.
- Possess initial practical experience in Data Science through internships, working student roles, theses, or 1-2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Have practical experience in modeling with Python or similar tools and a good understanding of AI and Machine Learning methods, especially tree-based and Bayesian approaches.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for consulting and be willing to undertake classic consulting tasks alongside Data Science responsibilities, from analysis and research to preparing and presenting results. Prior consulting experience, ideally in Life Sciences, Pharma, or Healthcare, is a plus.
- Understand the fundamentals of relational and NoSQL databases and be familiar with ETL processes.
- Exhibit analytical, structured, and solution-oriented work habits with an interest in economic contexts and the business/client questions behind analyses.
- Communicate complex issues clearly and understandably, comfortable interacting with both technical teams and business stakeholders/clients.
- Work proactively, reliably, and collaboratively in a team, take responsibility, and communicate fluently in German and English.
- Have initial practical experience with common cloud technologies like AWS, GCP, or Azure and have worked with Generative AI for tasks such as information retrieval, analysis, or data summarization.
