About the Role
Indigo Research offers a unique opportunity to mentor highly motivated high school students from around the world, helping them learn about academic research and complete a college-level project. Our program provides high-quality research mentorship to aspiring students from diverse backgrounds, aiming to give them valuable experience in academic research and make a significant impact on their future academic and professional careers.
Responsibilities
- Work remotely with high school students from around the world.
- Support students as they turn their interests into a research project.
- Help students explore a new question, make sense of existing literature, develop an argument, or work towards a research paper or other academic output.
- Help students learn how to think critically, ask better questions, and approach challenges with greater independence.
- Guide students through the research process and make academic research an engaging and rewarding experience.
Requirements
- Currently hold a faculty position at a top 15 university in the US or a top 10 university in the UK.
- Have strong subject knowledge and can help students explore a research topic with academic depth and rigor.
- Enjoy mentoring and are patient, empathetic, and encouraging when working with high school students.
- Are comfortable working with students from different cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Are open to feedback and willing to adapt their approach to each student's needs.
- Can work independently, exercise sound judgment, and are comfortable in a collaborative, evolving startup environment.
