About the Role
This role is with Edeneve, our cosmetics brand within the Sunday Natural and Yoshi en ecosystem. Edeneve stands for high-quality botanical skincare, where the highest quality standards, transparency, and scientific principles go hand in hand. As a working student in Quality Control (QC) & Quality Assurance (QA), you will support our Quality Manager in daily operational quality tasks. You will gain practical insights into how quality is built, tested, and documented in a natural cosmetics brand, from incoming goods inspection to batch records, external lab tests, and GMP-compliant archiving. This is a supporting role, with final batch release and regulatory CPNP/PIF submissions remaining with the Quality Management.
Responsibilities
- Support incoming goods inspection for raw materials and packaging materials, including sample preparation, comparing supplier certificates of analysis with specifications, and reporting deviations.
- Prepare and pre-check production and batch records, in-process controls, and final product test reports before final release by the Quality Manager.
- Coordinate logistics with testing laboratories for microbiological tests, stability studies, and preservative efficacy tests, including sample dispatch, timelines, and tracking results.
- Monitor stability testing time points and compile test results for evaluation.
- Support with out-of-specification (OOS) results and corrective actions, including data collection, CAPA log maintenance, and tracking open actions.
- Record customer complaints, maintain the complaint tracker, and prepare root cause analyses in coordination with customer service.
- Assist in creating, formatting, and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms, and work instructions under guidance.
- Maintain and archive quality records in accordance with cosmetic GMP guidelines, including version control.
- Compile relevant documents for internal and external audits, as well as certification bodies.
- Gather and structure quality documents for new raw materials and suppliers, such as specifications, CoAs, and organic/natural cosmetic certificates, in collaboration with Sourcing and R&D.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biology, Pharmacy, Food Chemistry/Technology, or a related natural science field.
- Initial exposure to laboratory work, GMP guidelines, or quality topics through studies, internships, or early work experience; prior QC/QA experience is a plus but not required.
- Genuine interest in botanical natural cosmetics and a commitment to ensuring seamless quality from raw material to finished product.
- Very careful, structured, and conscientious approach to documentation, with proficient use of spreadsheets (Excel / Google Sheets).
- Curiosity and proactivity: You question discrepancies early and address them transparently.
- Reliability and enjoyment of independent work in a dynamic start-up environment.
- Availability for at least 6 months with partial on-site presence in Berlin.
- Very good English and good German language skills; Spanish language skills are an advantage.
