About the Role
As a Trademark Attorney, you will be involved in all aspects of trademark work for domestic and international clients. This includes investigations, applications, rights acquisition, and maintenance, as well as managing and operating trademark portfolios, handling opposition and appeal procedures, and supporting licensing matters.
Responsibilities
- Handle various trademark-related tasks including investigations, applications, rights acquisition procedures, and maintenance.
- Manage and operate trademark portfolios for domestic and international clients and provide related advice.
- Respond to oppositions, invalidation/cancellation trials, and trademark disputes (depending on experience).
- Support transactions such as trademark licensing.
- Handle international cases, including coordination with overseas offices and local agents.
- Support Japanese companies in acquiring and enforcing trademark rights overseas, and support foreign companies in protecting their trademarks in Japan.
Requirements
- Must possess a patent attorney qualification.
- Must have practical experience primarily in the field of trademarks.
- Must be comfortable conducting business in English.
- High English proficiency is not required at the time of joining; the firm provides support for improving English skills after joining.
