About the Role
As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will own the software that sits between our cameras in the field and the people who rely on them: the applications our team and customers use to run the system and work with its data, the data model underneath, and the cloud services that move and deliver that data. You’ll be collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to create an amazing product and solve one of the world’s most important problems.
Responsibilities
- Own the control app end to end, including its features, UX, performance, and reliability.
- Own Prisma end to end, ensuring it remains a trusted, fast, and improving web application.
- Own the data model, evolving schemas and migrations for safety, clarity, and ease of future changes.
- Run and grow services including data processing, REST APIs, and access management, ensuring they are fast, cost-effective, and appropriately scaled.
- Implement airtight authentication and access control for users, roles, and per-customer data isolation.
- Build robust integration surfaces for customers and partners with versioned APIs, clear contracts, and comprehensive documentation.
- Ensure safe and frequent releases through CI/CD, infrastructure as code, isolated environments, and rollback capabilities.
- Proactively identify and address issues before customers do, utilizing logs, metrics, alerts, and traces.
- Collaborate with embedded teams on device data syncing and with data/ML teams on results flow for analysis and reporting.
Requirements
- Proven judgment across the full stack, with experience owning production applications and their backend services.
- Several years building and running production applications, both front-end and back-end.
- Strong, production-level TypeScript and modern web development experience.
- Strong, production-level Python experience.
- Strong data modeling and query skills, including schema design, migration, query profiling, and index analysis.
- Real experience with serverless on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM), including understanding of performance and cost implications.
- Experience with API design principles such as REST, pagination, versioning, idempotency, error contracts, and documentation.
- Security as a default practice, including authentication, authorization, multi-tenant data isolation, least-privilege IAM, and secure secrets management.
- A bias toward measurement and testing, including writing tests that catch bugs and instrumenting systems for debugging.
- A proactive disposition, seeking out potential issues and prioritizing customer problem discovery prevention.
- Self-direction, with the ability to define 'done' and take ownership of systems.
